x402 HTTP micropayments go live on Canton MainNet via FTP Tech

CantonNews (July 10, 2026): FTP Tech shipped the x402 payment standard on Canton MainNet—HTTP APIs can charge per request via the 402 Payment Required flow, with each payment settling on-ledger in Canton Coin. The stack comprises a non-custodial facilitator (verifies settlement without holding buyer/seller funds), a client SDK, and middleware gating resource servers. FTP Tech also offers a Canton Agent Wallet so AI agents hold self-custody CC and pay for x402-gated APIs from their own balance while the facilitator submits transactions and pays gas. Integration is open source under Apache-2.0 for API providers, agent builders, and institutions needing auditable on-ledger settlement.

Turnkey adds Canton key management, Party registration, and transaction signing

CantonNews (July 9, 2026): Turnkey launched native Canton Network support—generate Canton-compatible keys, register Canton Parties, and sign Canton transactions through one API without custom signing stacks. Keys sit in enclave-backed infrastructure with policy controls and auditability consistent across Turnkey’s multi-chain platform; the flow works on local dev environments and live Canton nodes, with a reference Party-registration implementation. Aimed at tokenized-asset platforms, settlement systems, private-market infrastructure, and multi-party institutional workflows; non-custodial by design so end users retain key control under regulated-app security requirements.

Alchemy Validator-as-a-Service goes live for Canton Network

Alchemy blog (July 8, 2026): Validator-as-a-Service (VaaS) is now live—a fully managed Canton deployment across DevNet, TestNet, and MainNet. Alchemy provisions and operates participant and validator nodes, keeps upgrades in lockstep with mandatory network releases, handles package deployment and 99.9% SLA monitoring (three-AZ mirroring), and pays Canton Coin network fees on the customer’s behalf so institutions can invoice in fiat without holding CC on balance sheet. Includes managed Ledger API access and Utilities API for CIP-56 tokenization workflows; runs inside the same Alchemy dashboard used for Ethereum, Solana, Base, and 100+ other chains. Bring-your-own-key: customers retain custody throughout.

NETSTARS and Canton Foundation sign MOU to explore Web3 payments

CantonNews / NETSTARS (July 7, 2026): Japanese cashless-payment provider NETSTARS and Canton Foundation signed an MOU to explore Web3-based payment solutions—including stablecoin rails—combining NETSTARS’ StarPay merchant network with Canton’s privacy, interoperability, and compliance-oriented infrastructure. The talks align with StarPay-X, NETSTARS’ gateway concept bridging Web2 cashless flows and Web3 without locking merchants to a single chain, wallet, or provider; Canton joins as a technical review partner alongside Aptos, Solana Foundation, and others.
