CantonNews: DTCC confirms DTC-held asset conversions occurred on Canton public network
CantonNews (July 20, 2026): DTCC named Canton as one of two networks—alongside Hyperledger Besu—where digital conversions of DTC-held assets occurred during its July 15 production tokenization initiative involving real trades. DTCC described Canton as a public network but did not attribute specific trade types (collateral pledge, securities lending, Treasury/repo and equity DvP, DvD, token transfers, CCP margin) to either chain. More than 30 traditional and digital-market firms participated; Digital Asset was among them alongside BlackRock, Circle, CME Group, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Microsoft, Nasdaq, NYSE, and Vanguard. The exercise precedes the planned October 2026 DTCC Tokenization Service, which will deliver digital twins of DTC-custodied assets to participant wallets while preserving investor protections.
